Can you read complex imperial and metric blueprints and turn them into accurate assemblies?
Are grinders, hand torches, framing squares, levels, plumb bobs, chain falls, come‑alongs, and hydraulic/ratchet jacks your everyday tools?
Do you thrive working at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoors—while keeping safety first?
What you’ll doCut, bevel, grind, bend, and shape steel to spec for hull, deck, and framing structures.
Fit, align, and secure plates and beams to blueprint tolerances.
Install structural components and verify alignment to templates and layout marks.
Adapt to multiple shifts and changing conditions to meet production schedules.
Practice and promote safe work habits and continuous improvement.
Minimum qualifications3–5 years in shipfitting or structural steel fabrication.
Blueprint literacy (metric and standard) and strong structural layout knowledge.
Mechanical aptitude with proven competency using fabrication tools.
Solid math, reading, and comprehension skills.
Demonstrated commitment to quality and safety.
Preferred background
Advanced shipboard installation and precision alignment experience.
Exposure to high-volume or military vessel programs.
Leadership traits with an eye toward advancement.
Compensation & perks $42/hour plus $180/day per part of building mission-critical, globally recognized vessels.
