The Licensed Practical Nurse provides skilled technical nursing care to patients according to predefined standards and a plan of care established by a Registered Nurse or Physician. Assumes other duties as assigned.

• Provide care utilizing the MS Nurse Practice Act, CDC Guidelines for Infection Control, and Singing River Health System Nursing Plan for Provision of Care, Treatment and Services.
• Promote the hospital’s mission of "world class healthcare and wellness" and comply with the SRHS Corporate Compliance Program.
• Assist in patient care management under the direction of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner, or LPN responsible for patient care management.
• Maintain documentation and support regulatory standards.

• Graduate from an approved school of practical nursing.
• Current Mississippi State licensure; LPN license for expanded role.
• Current unrestricted Mississippi State licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Must complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
• Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days).
• Appropriate nursing practice/experience within the past three (3) years.
• Strong communication (oral and written), customer service, and clinical judgment skills.
• Proficiency in computer use (MS Outlook, Word, Excel).

• Moderately active; involves sitting, frequent walking, moving objects, and traveling within SRHS service area.
• Exert light force to lift, carry, push, pull objects including patient bodies.
• Exposure to body fluids and infectious hazards.
• Repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions; use of standard office equipment.
• Ability to perceive sound, visual acuity, and fine motor tasks.
• Maintain active, fatigue‑free performance; adapt to schedule changes.
• Demonstrate keen mental faculties, decision‑making, stress management, and teamwork.
