Safety Inspector B

Inspects work areas and/or work practices to ensure compliance with safety rules and objectives. Prepares and maintains reports related to safety. Works under the general supervision of a Safety or Plant Manager.

• Instructs employees and supervisors on proper safety practices and techniques.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Monitors and ensures continued adherence of safety rules and procedures.
• May investigate employee complaints concerning unsafe working conditions.
• Responds to workplace safety or security emergencies and issues.
• Inspects specified areas for fire-prevention equipment and other safety and first-aid supplies.

Knowledge of state and Federal regulations relative to safety, health, environment, and workers compensation. Good knowledge of plant operations or the ability to acquire it a timely manner. Ability to maintain accurate, current records and generate complete and timely reports. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees.

• Completion of standard education supplemented by training in first-aid.
• 3-5 years plant inspector or safety administration; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
