• Coordinate and supervise field operations related to fisheries monitoring, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
• Develop and implement data collection protocols for various fisheries projects, ensuring accuracy and reliability of information gathered.
• Collaborate with scientists, researchers, and field staff to design and execute research initiatives that contribute to the understanding of fish populations and ecosystems.
• Train and mentor field staff on data collection techniques, safety protocols, and operational procedures to enhance team performance.
• Analyze field data and prepare comprehensive reports that summarize findings and provide insights for stakeholders.
• Liaise with state and federal agencies, as well as industry partners, to facilitate communication and collaboration on fisheries management issues.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of field operations, making recommendations for improvements and adjustments as necessary.
• Participate in outreach activities to educate the public and stakeholders about sustainable fisheries practices and the importance of data-driven management.
• Ensure that all field operations are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, adhering to company policies and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of field activities, equipment usage, and personnel assignments to ensure accountability and transparency.
• Assist in budgeting and resource allocation for field operations, ensuring that projects are completed within budgetary constraints.
• Stay informed about the latest developments in fisheries science and management, incorporating new knowledge into operational practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Fisheries Science, Marine Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in fisheries management or field operations, preferably in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of fisheries regulations, data collection methodologies, and environmental assessment techniques.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in data analysis software and tools, including statistical analysis programs and GIS applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to field sites as required.
• Commitment to safety and environmental stewardship in all aspects of field operations.

• Experience with remote sensing technologies or advanced data collection methods.
• Familiarity with local fisheries and marine ecosystems in the Gulf of Mexico region.
• Previous experience in stakeholder engagement and public outreach initiatives.
• Knowledge of grant writing and funding acquisition for fisheries research projects.
• Certification in first aid and CPR, as well as safety training related to fieldwork.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data management software.
• Experience with statistical analysis software such as R, SAS, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with GIS software for mapping and spatial analysis.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in challenging outdoor environments and adapt to changing conditions.

• This position is based in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and may require travel to various field sites along the Gulf Coast.
• Candidates should be prepared for both office-based tasks and fieldwork, which may involve physical labor and exposure to varying weather conditions.
