Entry Level Pipefitter

• Fit pipes made of steel, galvanized, copper, copper-nickel and stainless materials
• Install appropriate valves and fittings
• Use various tools and equipment
• Work according to drawings, arrangements and blueprints
• Work in production areas at different heights, in confined spaces and in varying weather conditions
• Work day or night shifts depending on ship construction needs
• Follow shipyard safety procedures and industry standards

• Completed high school or equivalent pipe fitting technical program with NCCER certification (nice to have)
• 1 or more years of marine, shipbuilding and construction experience (nice to have)
• Experience in layout, fit-up, fabrication and installation of pipe, flanges and valves (nice to have)
• Ability to read and interpret trade drawings and/or blueprints using metric and standard measurements (nice to have)
• Experience setting and erecting units with proficiency in the use of Datum Lines (nice to have)
• Familiarity with fit-up, alignment tolerances and advanced blueprint reading skills (nice to have)
• Ability to work at different heights and in confined spaces
• Ability to work in different weather conditions
• Ability to work multiple shifts, including day or night shifts
• Ability to work safely according to shipyard safety procedures

Demonstrates proficiency in pipe fitting, installation of valves and fittings, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints. Capable of working safely in various conditions and adhering to shipyard safety procedures.
