Description
Columbia Basin College ("CBC" or the "College") seeks a Program Assistant to independently support the daily operations of the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) while helping to createan inclusive and positive environment for participants. Thisgrant-funded position is dedicated to inspiring and empoweringmigrant students throughout their educational journey. The Program Assistant reports to the Director for CAMP.

Primary Responsibilities- Serve as the primary contact for CAMP participants; provide program and admission information as well as policies and activities; answer the telephone; receive and refer visitors;maintain and order office supplies;
- Assist CAMP staff in reviewing all eligible student applicants and aid in selecting the new cohort; schedule students;
- Compile and distribute information related to CAMP activities;collaborate with other campus programs, departments, and external agencies, such as the Department of Education; attend or representCAMP at events and field trips;
- Coordinate and schedule CAMP program logistics, such as CAMPmeetings, conferences and banquets;
- Assist in monitoring the CAMP budget by keeping the Directorinformed of budget status; help set projections and develop budget reports; track and prepare expenditures with appropriate documentation;
- Maintain and assist in identifying any supplemental grantmonies;
- Establish and maintain a functional filing system for CAMPstudent records, files, and other CAMP documents, contracts,reports and correspondence;
- Assist students in understanding account balances, tuition and payment obligations; provide information on funding resources,deadlines and financial aid; support students with basicregistration and financial aid processes;
- Track and monitor student worker payroll and all CAMPactivities for reporting purposes, including required reports toCBC, the Office of Migrant Education and the Department of Education; and
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Two (2) years of clerical experience; and
- Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish.
- Associate's degree from an institutionally accredited collegeor university;
- Experience in higher education or other complex organizations;and
- Experience working with federal grants.
