The Role:
As a Probation Services Clerk, you will play an important role in supporting the non-judicial functions of the Pasco Municipal Court Probation Division. This position performs a variety of clerical, records, scheduling, customer service, and probation-related support duties.
The ideal candidate will have general clerical experience, strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to maintain complete and accurate records in a confidential court environment. This role requires professionalism, clear communication, organization, and the ability to respond to telephone and in-person inquiries regarding probation orders and scheduling.
You will prepare case files and records, schedule appointments using personal computer and database programs, enter records and information into automated systems, sort and distribute incoming mail, type and distribute reports, and provide court-related information to other agencies and departments in support of the Municipal Court Probation Division.
This position may serve as an interpreter to assist in understanding court-related probation matters.
Required
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Two (2) years of general clerical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in local government, court, legal, probation, law enforcement, or other confidential office environment.
- Experience using database systems, case management systems, or other specialized software programs.
- Experience preparing case files, maintaining records, scheduling appointments, and processing confidential information.
- Experience responding to telephone and in-person inquiries in a professional office or public-facing environment.
- Strong customer service, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work respectfully and professionally with coworkers, departments, outside agencies, and members of the public.
- Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish.

- Work is primarily performed in an office environment while stationed at a desk using a computer.
- Physical:
This position frequently stands at the front counter and moves about the office to access files and file cabinets. - This position frequently moves files weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Hazards:
This position may come in contact with individuals who are angry, upset, or hostile.
