POSITION:
Bilingual Instructional Para educator - Resource Room
LOCATION:
Three Rivers Elementary
HOURS:
6.25/per day, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
5.00 on Wednesday's
4.00 on Early Release Days (4 days)
180-day calendar
SALARY: $21.38 - $23.72
Salary Schedules
AA Degree - $0.50/hour extra
BA Degree $0.75/hour extra

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Use trauma-informed strategies to build safe, supportive relationships, maintain consistent routines, and respond to student needs with empathy and emotional regulation support.
* Accurately collect and document data related to academic progress, behavior, and IEP goals, ensuring timely communication with the supervising teacher and support team.
* Follow established behavior intervention plans and apply CPI-approved strategies to de-escalate challenging behaviors, ensuring a safe and structured learning environment for all students.
* Assist in delivering teacher-directed instruction and reinforcement in academic, behavioral, and social-emotional areas in both individual and small group formats, adapting support to meet student needs.
* Administers first aid to provide emergency care.
* Provide one-on-one instruction or group instruction.
* Assist classroom teacher and/or building administrator(s) with classroom management.
* Assist with preparing materials needed to conduct lessons.
* Provide support or supervision during student arrival and/or departure to include but not limited to cross walk duty, transit to bus, transit from bus, unloading and/or loading wheelchair bound students.
* Assist with reporting misconduct on school property and/or school bus route(s).
* Assist with light cleaning, issuing of equipment for necessary activities, setting up, taking down and/or supervising students during age-appropriate games/activities.
* Adhere to District safety policies and/or procedures as well as required program guidelines.
* Attend and complete annual required training hours for para educator certification.
* Provide support, supervision and/or assistance administering tests, quizzes, exams, or any assessment as directed by teacher for the purpose of evaluating student progress or learning.
* Maintain accurate and efficient student records within student information management system(s).
* Translate verbal and/or written information for the purpose of assisting students, district personnel, parents and/or guardians. (Bilingual only).
* Assist with needs related to diapering, tube feeding, toileting, catheters, and/or lifting. Additional pay provided if performing these duties per CBA.
* Participate in District meetings to communicate information and gain feedback and/or direction on a variety of issues.
* Assists with supervision of students to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
NON
- ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assist other personnel as may be required to support them with the completion of their work activities.
* Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
* Assist with contacting parents and/or guardians regarding student behavior and academic progress.
* Willingness to review materials provided by district personnel and/or willingness to attend college classes for the purpose of improving instructional skills.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
* Bilingual and/or Biliterate (Spanish), required.
* Must meet one or more of the following:
* Associates degree (AAS, AA) or higher;
* Earned 72 college quarter credits or 48 semester credits in college level 100 or higher courses;
* Passing score on the Educational Testing Service (ETS) para educator assessment.
* Prior para educator experience, college, or on-the job experience preferred but not required.
* Experience working with students who are special needs preferred but not required.
* Valid First aid and/or CPR card for infants and children or willing to obtain.
* Prior experience in a K-12 school setting preferred but not required.
