Position: Credentials Evaluator 3

Columbia Basin College is seeking a Credentials Evaluator 3 to be responsible for reviewing and evaluating a wide variety of credentials to determine transfer credit course equivalencies. This position interprets and applies applicable policies and procedures while providing courteous and professional customer service. The Credential Evaluator 3 also maintains the Academic Advisement Report system and coordinates transcript ordering and outgoing transcript requests.

This position reports to the Director for Enrollment Services.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Review and evaluate a wide variety of educational credentials including academic credit for prior learning, dual credit, military tests/training and international transcripts for students enrolling at Columbia Basin College; inform students of educational credential evaluation results.
  • Determine accreditation of previously attended institution(s), interpret grades awarded on a wide variety of grading scales, and maintain transfer in course translation tables and transcript databases.
  • Coordinate the transcript ordering process and fulfill all outgoing transcript requests.
  • Provide high-level customer service and problem‑solving assistance to students, staff and the public regarding admissions, registration, transcript requests, transfer‑in processes and other Student Records related inquiries by responding to emails, answering phone calls and meeting with students listed on the Student Records drop‑in queue.
  • Review and process grade repeat requests, ensuring accurate application of institutional repeat policies and proper updates to student academic records.
  • Maintain and update the Academic Advisement Report system for CBC degrees and certificates, and support the graduation application review process.
  • Collect, organize and track selective admission applications, and route to appropriate departments.
  • Interpret and apply knowledge of applicable federal, state and college policies and procedures.
  • Attend meetings, trainings and conferences as a Student Records representative.
  • Serve as a back‑up switchboard operator.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or equivalent education from an institutionally accredited college or university.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office and learning management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an institutionally accredited college or university.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience working in higher education.
  • Experience in a student information system (SIS) and databases.
  • Experience interpreting and following policies, procedures and federal and state regulations.
  • Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish.
