NEW HIRES ARE CONDITIONAL UPON PASSING A FINGERPRINT SCREENING
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Actively identify and recruit all eligible migrant children residing in the school district/community from 0 through 21 years of age. This includes:
* Survey the area on a regular basis to confirm the location and presence of migrant workers and their families.
* Develop an identification & recruitment network with organizations and agencies that provide services to migrant workers and their families.
* Complete a Certificate of Eligibility according to state/federal guidelines for each eligible migrant family immediately upon arriving to the school district/community (this includes in-school and out-of-school students)
* Annually revalidate all families' most recent move information.
* Share with migrant parents and students' information regarding the Migrant Education Program, as well as all school services/programs available to them.
* This includes instructional programs, MSIS, physical exams, alternative educational programs, and options for Out of School Youth, preschool programs, adult basic education programs, GED programs, post-secondary opportunities, etc.
* Refer migrant families to appropriate, health, social or legal services to meet the needs of the migrant student's successful participation in school.
* Prepare documentation such as a recruiter log, which reflects all recruitment time and activities.
* Attend all required training sessions provided for the recruiter by the Migrant Education Program.
* Actively participate as a Migrant Education Program team member; attending weekly meetings, parent sessions, and conference as identified in the migrant grant. Coordinate access to services available through the school district and/or community that strengthen community
* Conduct home visits in coordination with Migrant Graduation Specialist, building staff, and other appropriate staff to strengthen home-school connection and student engagement
* Participate in professional development opportunities to strengthen skills in working with at-risk migrant students including motivational techniques and reporting requirements
* Actively participate with Migrant Education Parent Advisory Council to develop the program focus and monitor implementation of the Migrant Education Service delivery plan
* Survey families to gather input and details on educational needs and wants to be shared with Migrant Education Program Schedule and carry out regular home visits to connect, form, and maintain positive relationships with program families during school year and intersessions
* Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor
* Works directly with families to identify and remove barriers to their student's educational experience
* Work with Migrant Graduation Specialists, building staff, and other appropriate staff at school to develop student plans/goals that lead to successful transition to the next grade level and postsecondary education or employment
* Coordinate access to services available through the school district and/or community to reduce and/or eliminate identified barriers
* Coordinate access to services available through the school district and/or community that strengthen communication, self-advocacy, and leadership skills.
* Participate in District meetings to communicate information and gain feedback and/or direction on a variety of issues.
* Maintain inventory of office supplies to ensure availability of required items.
* Distribute documents and materials to appropriate staff, students and/or parents.
* Answer phones including support for other departments, taking messages, responding to voicemails and/or forwarding calls.
* Perform other duties to assist in the daily activities for the building and administrator(s).
* Assists with supervision of students to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.

- ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assist other personnel as may be required to support them with the completion of their work activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* High school diploma or equivalent, required.
* AA Degree, required.
* BA Degree, preferred but not required.
* Previous home visitor experience, required.
* Valid Washington State Deiver's License, required.
* Prior job-related experience preferred but not required.
* Prior computer experience: word processing, excel, data bases, required.
* Bilingual and/or Biliterate (Spanish), required.
* Dependable transportation and proof of auto insurance, required.
