LOCATION:

District Wide

SALARY: $24.07 per hour - Assistant Educational Signer/Interpreter

$33.29 per hour - Signer/Interpreter- EIPA 4.0

SCHEDULE:

Varies

180-day work year

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:

(Qualifications which are essential to the position)

* High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

* Proficient sign language skills in a variety of systems

* Proficient in American Sign Language required.

* Evidence of successful ability to work with the deaf/hard of hearing

* Demonstrated ability to carry out prescribed instructional management program

* Patience and warmth in working with students

* Ability to assume role of educational assistant and role of interpreter

* Demonstrated exemplary customer service and responsiveness

* Ability to work effectively with professionals in a school setting

* Must work within designated bounds of authority and confidentiality

* Demonstrated punctuality and an excellent work attendance record

* Ability to establish and maintain professional, cooperative, working relationships

* Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with staff, students, and patrons

* Ability to follow safe work practices and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED: (Qualifications which are not required, but would be useful to the position)

* Successful experience interpreting for hearing impaired students in a school setting.

* Bilingual/Biliterate English/Spanish.

* Passing score on EIPA prior to start date, preferred.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

* Working with hearing impaired students.
