Position Overview
Columbia Basin College invites applications for a passionate and collaborative educator to deliver a diverse array of courses in Nursing Science through lab, simulation, and didactic instruction consistent with the ongoing needs of the nursing department. The ideal candidate should demonstrate versatility, keen interest in multiple nursing fields, and an openness to teach using different formats and cutting‑edge, inclusive educational methods.
Salary range: $80,024.00 – $84,074.00 for a 176‑day contract over the Instructional Year. The position qualifies for Nurse Educator Differential Pay and an additional 26.5% Nurse Educator Supplemental Pay if funded. Relocation expenses are provided for successful candidates who relocate to the Tri‑Cities area from outside a 175‑mile radius.
Responsibilities• Deliver laboratory, simulation, and didactic nursing courses.
• Engage in shared governance and campus‑wide activities.
• Stay current with developments in nursing education and implement innovative instructional strategies.
• Design and evaluate learning outcomes, contributing to continuous improvement and institutional effectiveness.
- Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, with the ability to complete a Master’s within three (3) years of hire.
- Registered Nurse license in Washington State (unencumbered) or ability to obtain one at time of hire.
- Three (3) full‑time equivalent years of medical/surgical nursing work experience.
- Ability to meet vocational certification standards.
- Demonstrated ability to create an inclusive and equitable learning environment for Hispanic and other underserved populations.
- Proven dedication to teaching community college students.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Community college teaching experience.
- Recent acute care nursing experience.
- Relevant and current teaching experience in a qualified medical facility.
- Commitment to teaching community college students.
