POSITION:
Manager of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Core Instruction

Exempt position (Grant funded)

LOCATION:

Booth Building

SCHEDULE:

260 day work year; 8 hours per day, Monday-Friday

SALARY: $127,481 to $166,550  salary schedule) based on qualifications and experience

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:

* Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

* Minimum of five (5) years instructional experience. Demonstrated experience in instructional leadership, data and assessment and systems monitoring and implementation.

* Valid WA State Teacher's certificate; equivalent work experience may act as substitute for teaching certification.

* Knowledge of instructional assessment best practices and comprehensive systems; demonstrated experience .

* Proficiency with and/or ability to quickly gain proficiency in student data systems;
Demonstrated ability to manage and analyze data accurately.

* Knowledge of and ability to understand and implement local policies and procedures and federal and state laws, rules, and regulations.

* Strong problem-solving skills with a commitment to customer service, collaboration, and identifying solutions to support positive student outcomes;
Ability to think diver gently.

* Knowledge and experience in staff development and training.

* Proven record of working cooperatively with district administration and staff.

* Experience working with diverse student population and second language learners .

* Demonstrated ability to use sound professional judgment, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.

* Successful experience working with English language learners.

* Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills to diverse audiences.

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office product with strong proficiency in Excel.

* Ability to work with limited supervision, produce quality work product, and act in accordance with expectations of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:

* Knowledge and/or experience with state standards and curriculum alignment

* Successful teaching experience

* Bilingual/Biliterate
* in Spanish/English

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

* The manager of MTSS and core instruction will assist in the coordination and management of all instructional services. The manager will develop a systematic structure for core instruction, interventions, and MTSS academic support. The manager will coordinate highly capable services, Tier I and Tier II instructional supports for ELA and Literacy instruction, social studies & history, state program grants. The manager will develop a systematic structure for curriculum and instructional cycles and coordinate instructional coaching needs that support MTSS throughout the district.

SPECIFIC

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Matches evidence-based core instruction and interventions to meet the needs of specific student groups.

* Serves as the primary point of contact providing technical assistance to schools in the implementation of core curriculum.

* Participates in and supports on-going process improvement by providing appropriate materials, training, research, and analysis for functional areas;
Assists in development of procedures and processes for a comprehensive Tier 1 Instructional system.

* Provides training and/or support as needed, including clock hours and fundamental course of study.

* Serves as liaison between building administrators, instructional information, staff and the instructional services department in establishing a coherent instructional system designed to inform instruction.

* Works with principals to conduct needs assessments, implement core programs and monitor the implementation of such programs.

* Works with fiscal staff, principals and staff to ensure all program budgets stay in compliance.

* Provides technical support to principals in the development, implementation and progress monitoring of core instructional programs and interventions.

* Plans and conducts meetings as appropriate.

* Provides literacy, content support, highly capable guidance and training for staff serving targeted students.

* Coordinates and/or provides professional development to staff that target student interventions and high yield strategies.

* Conducts research, prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations to support departmental and district goals.

* Monitors implementation of core instruction and supplemental academic support.

* Manages special projects and related duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent or designee.

REPORTS TO:

Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services or designee.
