Position: Assistant Professor of Accounting (2 Positions)

Position Overview

CBC seeks an outstanding and enthusiastic individual to teach Accounting, Accounting Technology, and Data Analytics courses in the Accounting and Business Departments. The individual will be flexible with broad interests and willing to teach and mentor students in a variety of areas, including eLearning, instructional innovations, and inclusive pedagogy.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range is $82,105–$86,261 for a 176‑day contract over the Instructional Year (Fall/Winter/Spring Quarters). Additional compensation may be available for summer quarter courses or courses taught outside the full‑time position. Relocation expenses are covered if the candidate relocates to the Tri‑Cities area from outside a 175‑mile radius.

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Management Information Systems, or other closely related field with significant accounting coursework at the undergraduate and graduate level from an institutionally accredited college or university.
  • Two (2) years of professional accounting work experience.
  • Experience using accounting software, including Excel applications within accounting topics.
  • Training or teaching experience in computer applications or accounting software.
  • Demonstrated ability to create an inclusive and equitable learning environment, with a focus on supporting the academic success of Hispanic and other underserved populations.
  • International transcripts must include a foreign transcript evaluation using an approved credential evaluation service (e.g., NACES).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant license and/or other accounting related certification.
  • Ph.D., DA, or ABD in Accounting, Business Administration, MIS, or other closely related field from an institutionally accredited college or university.
  • College‑level teaching experience.
  • Experience with data analytics and a willingness to embed analytics in course content.
  • Exposure to international accounting and/or business.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with innovative instructional methods.
  • Demonstrated success in student achievement and completion.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Terms of Employment

This position is a 176‑day contract over the Instructional Year (Fall/Winter/Spring Quarters). The contract begins on September 1, 2026 and is a tenure track position that will begin the three‑year tenure process in fall quarter 2026.

The position is funded by the Association for Higher Education (AHE) collective bargaining agreement. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Candidates need to provide proof of lawful permanent residency or other appropriate work authorization, pass a criminal background check, disclose any findings related to sexual misconduct, and maintain an alcohol‑free and drug‑free workplace. Plaintified education at time of hire and other compliance are required.
