SALARY: Based on the Certified Salary Schedule

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
- Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
- Ability to supervise and instruct para-educators or willingness to learn
- Ability to design and implement standards-based IEPs and Behavior Intervention Plans
- Data collection for academic, transition, work experience, social and functional behavioral assessments
- Develop IEP transition plans, and High School and B eyond plans.
- Successful experience with a co-teaching model or commitment to participate in training
- Experience or demonstrated knowledge of implementing multi-tiered interventions for academics, behavior, and social skills
- CPI trained or willingness to be trained
- Experience with special education students on the autism spectrum (ASD)
- Ability to communicate with students using adaptive and/or assistive technology
- Basic knowledge of the Autism Spectrum Disorder and
- Knowledge of ABA strategies and/or willingness to learn and be trained
- Utilization of data collection to make data-based decisions
- Willingness to share with grade level partners to meet districts improvement plan
- Willingness to collaborate and work as de?ned by the school improvement plan
- Training and/or experience in Guided Language Acquisition Design/SIOP or willing to be trained
- Ability to design specially designed instruction for students with a range of disabilities to access general education curriculum
- Willingness to participate in professional learning communities as determined by the building
The candidate must demonstrate commitment to student success while aligning with state requirements and the school’s guiding principles, vision, and mission. The candidate must also demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for working with all students. The candidate must be willing to participate in required trainings and professional development, implement best practices that foster meaningful learning experiences, work within a system that supports student interventions, and collaborate with relevant staff members to enhance student outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:
- Previous successful classroom teaching experience
- Bilingual/Biliterate
* in English/Spanish - Previous experience in working with students with a variety of disabilities
- Computer knowledge and literacy
