Location: Sageview High School

Hours: 6.35 per day Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday; 5.60 on Wednesdays; 4.00 on Early Release Days; 180‑day calendar

Salary: $21.38 – $23.72

Additional salary for AA Degree: +$0.50 per hour; BA Degree: +$0.75 per hour

New Hires: Conditional upon passing a fingerprint screening

• Use trauma‑informed strategies to build safe, supportive relationships, maintain consistent routines, and respond to student needs with empathy and emotional regulation support.
• Accurately collect and document data related to academic progress, behavior, and IEP goals, ensuring timely communication with the supervising teacher and support team.
• Follow established behavior intervention plans and apply CPI‑approved strategies to de‑escalate challenging behaviors, ensuring a safe and structured learning environment for all students.
• Assist in delivering teacher‑directed instruction and reinforcement in academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional areas in both individual and small group formats, adapting support to meet student needs.
• Administer first aid to provide emergency care.
• Provide one‑on‑one instruction or group instruction.
• Assist classroom teacher and/or building administrator(s) with classroom management.
• Assist with preparing materials needed to conduct lessons.
• Provide support or supervision of students, including but not limited to arrival and/or departure, cross‑walk duty, transit to bus, transit from bus, recess, breakfast/lunch time, hall monitoring, unloading and/or loading wheelchair‑bound students.
• Assist with reporting misconduct on school property and/or school bus route(s).
• Assist with light cleaning, issue equipment for necessary activities, set up, take down, and/or supervise students during age‑appropriate games/activities.
• Adhere to District safety policies and/or procedures as well as required program guidelines.
• Attend and complete annual required training hours for para educator certification.
• Support, supervise and/or assist administering tests, quizzes, exams, or any assessment as directed by teacher for evaluating student progress or learning.
• Maintain accurate and efficient student records within student information management system(s).
• Translate verbal and/or written information for the purpose of assisting students, district personnel, parents and/or guardians (Bilingual only).
• Assist with diapering, tube feeding, toileting, catheters, and/or lifting if required; additional pay provided if performing these duties per CBA.
• Participate in District meetings to communicate information and gain feedback and/or direction on a variety of issues.
• Assist with supervision of students to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.

• Assist other personnel as required to support them with completing their work activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
• Assist with contacting parents and/or guardians regarding student behavior and academic progress.
• Show willingness to review materials provided by district personnel and/or attend college classes to improve instructional skills.

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Bilingual and/or biliterate (Spanish), preferred.
• Must meet one or more of the following:
  • Associate’s degree (AAS, AA) or higher;
  • Earned 72 college quarter credits or 48 semester credits in college‑level 100 or higher courses;
  • Passing score on the Educational Testing Service (ETS) para educator assessment.
• Prior para educator experience, college, or on‑the‑job experience preferred but not required.
• Experience working with students who have special needs preferred but not required.
• Valid First aid and/or CPR card for infants and children or willingness to obtain.
• Prior experience in a K‑12 school setting preferred but not required.
