MTSS And Educator Growth And Development Coordinator
The MTSS and Educator Growth and Development Coordinator works within a statewide network and in concert with ESD staff, OSPI, and local districts to build a collaborative, coherent regional delivery system. Through professional development and sustained support, this position helps schools and districts implement and sustain a Multi-Tiered System of Supports as well as building educator capacity to improve learning for every student.
Essential Functions:
- Work with OSPI and other ESDs to support one another in the design and delivery of state-level and regional-level professional development to support inclusionary practices.
- Coordinate across the AESD network to establish and maintain the capacity to provide administrative, professional development, technical assistance, and intervention services to support inclusionary practices.
- Provide professional development designed to support school-based inclusionary practice both regionally and within the context of a school or district.
- Collaborate with district/school teams to establish action plans that address such things as data analysis and inclusive strategies in support of increasing access to general education settings.
- Provide support to teachers, instructional coaches, fellows, and building principals.
- Provide support to the design of online and virtual resources for inclusionary practices.
- Provide technical assistance to district teams, including readiness for implementation, action planning, alignment and prioritizing of needs.
- Provide training on MTSS to district and school teams.
- Collaborate and work effectively as part of the larger ESD Teaching and Learning team for the purpose of providing coherent professional learning that intersects with other content areas as well as providing best practice strategies for inclusion of students with disabilities and second language learners.
- Stay up to date with Washington's educational reform efforts and current research in the areas of inclusionary practices and MTSS.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Significant, successful classroom teaching experience.
- Hold or be eligible to hold a Washington State teaching required, administrator certificate preferred.
- Experience implementing or coaching a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), including inclusive practices that expand access to general education for students with disabilities and multilingual learners.
- Demonstrated understanding of Washington's teacher and administrator evaluation frameworks (TPEP).
- Experience facilitating adult learning and presenting to adult audiences in an education setting.
- Demonstrated leadership in school reform or effective educational practice at the local, regional, and/or state level.
- Experience with Washington State Instructional and Leadership Frameworks, research-based instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
- Education or work experience in data collection, analysis, and use for problem solving.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects at once, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with a range of stakeholders, including school district and ESD staff, researchers, other state partners, and district and state policymakers.
- Demonstrated knowledge of educational technology.
- High commitment to meeting the needs of partner districts, with the flexibility and resourcefulness to do so.
- Access to personal transportation, willingness to travel, and flexibility in work hours.
- WSP/ FBI background clearance required.
