On-Campus employment opportunities at Columbia Basin College (CBC) are available. Students who believe the experience can be a valuable part of their education are encouraged to apply, with some positions requiring student work study funding for eligibility. This announcement will be used to develop a pool of applicants for the TRIO SSS Outreach & Engagement Student Employee position. The hours for the position will be flexible within CBC's operating hours, and some evening and weekend hours may be required.
Hours for this position will typically range between 5-19 hours per week and will primarily be completed at the Pasco Campus.
TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is seeking two student employees to support outreach, recruitment, event planning, student engagement, and program visibility during the 2026–2027 academic year. Supported in part by Associated Students of Columbia Basin College (ASCBC) Services and Activities (S&A) fees, these positions provide students with an opportunity to gain valuable work experience while serving as ambassadors for TRIO SSS.
Student employees will assist with campus outreach, events, student resources, and promotion of TRIO SSS services and opportunities.
Pay Range: $17.13 - $17.13 per hour.
Assist staff in assigned department or office with the following:
- Represent TRIO SSS at campus outreach activities, tabling events, FYI, Resource Fairs, First Day of Classes, and other campus events;
- Promote TRIO SSS services, workshops, activities, and student opportunities;
- Assist with planning, set-up, implementation, and clean-up of TRIO SSS events and activities;
- Engage with students and serve as a positive peer resource for TRIO SSS services and campus opportunities;
- Research, compile, and share scholarship and student resource information;
- Assist with outreach materials, student engagement, and program visibility; and
- Perform other appropriate duties as assigned.
- Currently enrolled at Columbia Basin College:
- For Non-Work Study: enrolled in at least one (1) credit;
- For Work Study: enrolled in at least six (6) degree-required credits, five (5) degree-required credits for summer;
- Current participant of the TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program;
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work professionally with diverse groups of students;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; and
- Interest or experience in student leadership, outreach, event planning, campus activities, or student support programs
Prior to a new hire, a background check including a criminal record history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position.

Physical Requirements & Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility including having the ability to move materials on a regular basis such as files, books, office equipment, etc. and travel between buildings on campus. Manual dexterity and coordination are required to operate equipment such as computer keyboard, calculator, and standard office equipment.
