We are supporting an established environmental consulting firm in the Pacific Northwest with the appointment of a Principal Water Resources Engineer / Hydrogeologist
.
This is a senior opportunity for an experienced water resources professional who combines strong technical hydrogeology expertise with project leadership, client management and business development experience.
The successful individual will play a key role in delivering and growing water resources work across Washington and Oregon, while providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior members of the team.
The RoleYou will:
- Lead water resources and hydrogeology projects from proposal development through project execution.
- Manage and develop long-term client relationships.
- Identify new opportunities and support continued growth of the water resources practice.
- Lead water rights assessments, transfers and applications across Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
- Analyze and interpret hydrologic, hydrogeologic and water-quality data.
- Support water-supply development projects, including supply wells, aquifer storage and recovery systems and injection wells.
- Provide senior technical review across water-supply, water-rights and hydrogeologic evaluation projects.
- Prepare and review technical reports and regulatory documentation.
- Mentor and support the development of junior technical staff.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in hydrogeology, geology, engineering or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of relevant water resources or hydrogeology experience.
- Strong experience with groundwater, water supply and/or water rights.
- Detailed knowledge of Pacific Northwest hydrogeology and the regulatory environment.
- Experience working with water resources clients across Washington and/or Oregon.
- Demonstrated project management and client relationship skills.
- Experience supporting business development and generating new work.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Professional registration such as LHG, LG/RG, PE or CWRE is highly desirable.
- Groundwater and/or surface-water modeling experience would be advantageous.
