• Perform phlebotomy duties, including venipuncture and capillary techniques, using standard equipment such as vacutainer tubes and sleeves, tourniquets, syringes, and butterfly needles.
• Ensure requisitions include patient demographics and accurate required billing information.
• Transcribe physician orders.
• Facilitate the unobserved collection of urine specimens. Interact directly with patients to obtain information for laboratory records, explain procedures, allay fears, and elicit cooperation.
• Process, label, and store specimen samples for subsequent analysis.
• Perform and document various quality control procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations.
• Perform Med‑Competence testing.
• Enter waived testing results into the LIS using manual entry mode.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment. Perform light cleaning of the work area.
• Perform specialized collection as requested.
• Occasionally deliver or pick up specimens outside of the laboratory.

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or equivalent Required. 2 years of college or an Associate’s Degree is Preferred.
• Experience:
  
  3 years or more of lab‑related experience, including 3 months practicum gained in a clinical, hospital, or lab setting. Prefer prior waived testing experience.
• Certifications:
  
  State MA‑P (Medical Assistant Phlebotomist) or MA‑C (Medical Assistant Certified).
