Job Description
Under the guidance of the Golf Course Superintendent, the Equipment Manager is responsible for a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for the grounds department’s equipment. This includes repair work, record-keeping, ordering parts and supplies, and ensuring equipment safety and efficiency. The Equipment Manager also plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and organized service and maintenance environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Oversee all aspects of the golf course's equipment fleet. (John Deere)
- Implement and manage a detailed maintenance program, including accurate record‑keeping of repairs and maintenance schedules.
- Develop and manage the equipment repair and maintenance budget.
- Oversee ordering and inventory to ensure optimal stock levels and cost‑effective purchasing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe equipment facility.
- Prioritize safety in all operations and maintenance activities.
- Support the annual maintenance budget and operational plan development.
- Ensure efficient, safe operation of all equipment, and assist in training staff on maintenance and operation procedures.
- Adjust mowing units regularly and assist in broader maintenance, construction, and grow‑in operations.
- Maintain thorough records of department activities, including equipment repair and safety meetings.
- Ensure timely submission of operational, financial, and budgetary reports.
- Stay updated with industry developments through continuous learning and engagement with relevant associations and publications.
- High school diploma required
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to operate heavy equipment.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting up to 75 pounds and working in various weather conditions.
- Advanced knowledge in golf course equipment repair and maintenance, including reel grinding.
- Experience in diagnosing and repairing turf and landscape equipment.
- Welding and metal fabrication skills are advantageous.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, plan strategically, and lead staff.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Professional demeanor with a positive attitude in all circumstances.
Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, such as bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting, in various weather conditions.

- Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000 per annum
This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills, and performance. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
