Responsibilities- Shut off hour leadership and act as resource person for staff.
- Assist in patient care and be responsible for overall quality of patient care in the facility.
- Supervise and mentor nursing and support staff during assigned shift.
- Determine staffing level and assignments based on staff availability, staff abilities, census, patient acuity and work/patient flow.
- Provide direct patient care as needed.
- Float between staff to assist with problem‑solving.
- Take patient assignments to meet staffing needs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
- Respond to complaints about patient care and related services, and manage through established channels.
- Perform role‑specific duties as assigned, including entering orders, performing admissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers.
- Ensure staff has necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care.
- Integrate evidence‑based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
- Create and foster an environment that encourages professional growth.
- Initiate weekend case management, utilization review screening, assist with D/C planning and swing intake.
- Current state RN license.
- Bachelor's degree or associate degree from an accredited nursing school.
- BLS required.
- 2–3 years of RN Emergency Department experience required.
- 1 year of relevant supervisory experience preferred.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Must be able to quickly learn how to navigate multiple complex software systems.
- Must be able to communicate with reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
