Position Overview
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supporting plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) and the Center Physician for medical issues.
Key Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Manage donor adverse events in accordance with SOPs, including evaluation of donor reactions and implementing medical emergency procedures.
- Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable results.
- Provide guidance to donors on medical or technical issues and refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when necessary.
- Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health or ER, following EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Current license or certification in the state where responsibilities will be assigned:
Registered Nurse (RN),
Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). - Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Satisfactory completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $38.72 – $53.24. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, and location. U.S. employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives, medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan with company match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well‑being benefits. Employees may receive up to 80 hours of sick time per year and up to 120 hours of paid vacation for new hires.
