Job Description Summary

Is responsible for the routine and non-routine repair and maintenance of plant electrical systems. Has the basic electrical and mechanical aptitude to build on and an eagerness to expand their knowledge and to increase their skills in the electrical maintenance department in compliance with established Company standards. Has applicable prior experience with electrical equipment and systems, electrical troubleshooting. Will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain the plant electrical systems in a manner that optimizes and sustains equipment operation and reliability to assure an uninterrupted processing of quality potato products.

Must be able to work the scheduled days, shifts, times and overtime required for this position.

Job Description

  • Maintains and promotes safe work practices at all times, assures that safe work practices are being followed in all work groups, and actively participates in safety programs.
  • To the best of their ability performs assigned duties and responsibilities in a safe and satisfactory manner.
  • Must understand and comply with all known posted or generally accepted instructions, procedures, rules, practices, policies or other items covered in the Employee Handbook.
  • To the best of their ability performs corrective and preventive maintenance including the inspection of equipment within scope of responsibility to sustain and improve equipment reliability.
  • To the best of their ability performs the safe isolation, shut down, inspection, adjustment, repair/overhaul or startup of equipment and systems within scope of responsibility with the mindset to identify defects, identify the reason for the failure, and then take corrective action to eliminate a recurring failure.
  • Works closely with the Electrical Maintenance Team Lead to achieve all department goals.
  • Develops the capability of connecting power supply wires to panels, components, and equipment. Develops the capability of connecting cables and wires between panels, components and equipment.
  • Develops the capability of installing and maintaining wiring, Motor Control Centers (MCC’s), bus duct, conduit and electrical systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code.
  • Develops the capability of diagnosing, repairing, replacing, entering, re-entering or programming device parameters for faulty electrical/electronic control components or equipment such as but not limited to transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, relays, switches, sensors, probes, VFD’s, HMI’s, PLC’s, instrumentation and other devices.
  • Capable of assisting other work groups, specialists, outside resources and contractors with the troubleshooting, adjustment, repair, replacement, modification, maintenance, rebuilding and installation of components, equipment, etc., as directed.
  • Documents corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance of equipment to improve and sustain equipment reliability. Documentation may include but is not limited to SAP, FM form, BDE card, etc.
  • Develops the capability of evaluating equipment for performance. Per training and following established procedures, performs manual adjustments, overrides automatic controls, etc., to bring equipment into recommended or prescribed…
