Mobile Diesel Technician Level II

We provide on‑site mobile maintenance and repair services for light, medium, and heavy‑duty trucks and trailers nationwide, supported by a 24/7 in‑house call center and a network of more than 50 service centers for accident repair, painting, refurbishment, and heavy mechanical repair.
Duties- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
- Carry out minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment using handheld computers, pressure gauges, and other diagnostic instruments.
- Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
- Road test vehicles to verify proper operation.
- Identify and evaluate problems, using sound judgment to generate and assess alternatives.
- Manage parts inventory on the company‑issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliations.
- Maintain, operate, and perform safety checks on the company‑issued service vehicle, including pre‑ and post‑trip inspections.
- Interact effectively with clients and customers to assess needs and provide assistance.
- Prioritize concurrent tasks and allocate time efficiently.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks as required.
- Document work according to company standards, uploading photos of work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders (RO) via the company‑issued iOS device and the TRAIT application.
- Complete DOT forms and other required documentation accurately and promptly.
- Work independently and manage own daily schedule.
- Maintain a high level of productivity, meeting or approaching standard repair times.
- Obtain parts from approved vendors when necessary.
- Communicate with management and support teams via email and phone for repair estimates, purchase order numbers, and RO findings.
- Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
- High School Diploma or GED and three (3) years of experience in a related field (alternative qualifications may include a degree/certification beyond HS and five (5) years of experience).
- Possess and supply hand tools required for the job.
- Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
- Pass a DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical.
- Provide a valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining; if less, a DOT physical is required.
- Be at least 21 years old due to interstate operating authority regulations.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a Driver Qualification File.

- Capacity to apply new information to current and future problem solving and decision making.
- Physical ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods; perform moderately heavy labor and repetitive tasks.
- Strong communication skills, providing information succinctly and engaging in effective two‑way communication.
- Determine the type of tools and equipment needed for tasks.
- Accurately judge distances and spatial relationships.
- Use logic and reasoning to evaluate strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
