Master Level Diesel Technician – Pasco, Washington

Ryder is hiring a Master Level Diesel Technician who will receive weekly pay, excellent benefits, and the opportunity to advance their career in a supportive environment.

Key Compensation & Schedule
  • Hourly Pay: $38.00 per hour
  • Must be a Master Level Diesel Technician with Lead Tech experience in Heavy Duty Diesel
  • Certification Bonus up to $700 for each new ASE Certification obtained
  • Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
  • Schedule:

    Monday–Friday with weekend days off
  • Hours:

    Monday–Thursday 8:30 am–5:00 pm, Friday 7:00 am–3:30 pm

Responsibilities
  • Complete all OEM online diagnostic scan‑tool software courses within 365 days.
  • Attend instructor‑led OEM courses as required for the fleet mix.
  • Train in SBTIII (SBT
    220) within 180 days.
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventive maintenance, complex repairs with minimal support, and diagnoses of mechanical and electronic problems.
  • Use internal and external maintenance documents and diagnostic computers/software effectively.
  • Conduct remote triage with RCRC and customers to resolve roadside breakdowns.
  • Maintain facility and shop equipment, ensuring compliance with safety, DOT, and municipal regulations.
  • Interact with customers and drivers to determine complaint nature.
  • Instruct, advise, and mentor other technicians on procedures and diagnostics.
  • Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation.
  • Perform other support duties as required, including service island tasks.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Vocational or technical certification; post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred.
  • Basic tool knowledge required.
  • Four (4) years or more of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A preferred.
  • Required:

    All other certifications as required by location.
  • Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
  • Must pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years).
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to perform all T3 tasks.
  • Advanced analytical and repair skills in vehicle maintenance.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills (PC, Windows, mouse).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability for shift work, weekends, and on‑call duty as required.
  • Prefer ASE certification in preventive maintenance, brakes, A/C, electrical, electronics, or ASE Master Mechanic.
  • Proficiency in operating shop computers and diagnostic test equipment.
  • Minimum tool set required.
  • Must road test vehicles as necessary.
  • Demonstrated coaching/mentoring ability.
