Company Description The Columbia Basin Veterans Center (CBVC), Inc. is a nonprofit organization based in Pasco, WA, dedicated to helping veterans access the benefits and support they have earned through their service. The four pillars of our efforts are focused on the Veterans Therapeutic Court, Transitional Housing, Resource Assistance and Community Outreach/Connection.

Role Description This position requires someone who brings the right combination of experience, training, and heart. We are looking for someone who is ready to join a team of individuals that actively cares for the veterans in our community.

  • We currently have two transitional homes that serve our veterans in the community, and this position will focus on overseeing the homes, the participants, and the grant compliance required.
  • The experience and training side of the role focuses on the mechanics of the GPD program, completing required paperwork, reporting and staying organized. The Housing Case Manager must also ensure the homes are maintained at a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and organization so each participant has a stable and respectful place to live during their transition.
  • The heart of the position is equally important. This person must be willing to advocate for, encourage, and invest in the lives of the veterans living in the homes. The goal is not simply to manage housing, but to help each participant move from their current circumstances toward greater stability, independence, and the ability to successfully transition into a home of their own.
1.About the Role

The Housing Case Manager will perform the duties and responsibilities associated with the position, including:

  • Complete all inspections required by the VA Grant and Per Diem (GPD) Program and participate in monthly inspections with the Executive Director. (See below for a full list of Key Responsibilities)
  • Maintain current participant case files, required paperwork, documentation, and program reports.
  • Monitor and support house maintenance, safety, organization, and cleanliness.
  • Provide case management, resource navigation, participant support, and referrals consistent with GPD requirements and CBVC policies.
  • Communicate participant progress, concerns, incidents, and program needs to the Executive Director in a timely manner.
  • Perform other reasonable duties related to housing case management and CBVC operations as assigned.
2.Hours of Work

The position requires a work schedule of 35-40 hours per week.

The anticipated schedule is:

  • Days:
    Monday through Friday (Off hours as needed for housing emergencies and calls)
  • Hours:

    10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (These are flexible)
  • Some evenings and weekends may be required for CBVC events and community activities.
  • Attendance may be required at major CBVC events, including the No Veteran Stands Alone Gala, Veterans Community Golf Classic, and Tri-Cities Veterans Resource Expo and Stand Down, Coffee Bunker NW.
3.Compensation

Compensation is at a range of $24-$28 an hour based upon experience.

  • Payment will be made on a biweekly basis through direct deposit.
  • Overtime must be approved in writing by the Employer before it is worked.
  • Vacation time builds based upon the length of employment as laid out in the policy.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of2 years of Housing Facility Management
  • Case management, social services, veteran services, or other relevant participant support program experience
  • Documentation and Record Keeping Experience
  • Ability to communicate professionally and work effectively as part of a team
  • Basic Computer and Software Skills- (Ability to learn any required systems)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or related field
  • HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) Training
  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification
  • Ability to maintain and repair small items in houses
