Position Overview

We are looking for a ready‑mix concrete truck operator to deliver high‑quality concrete to various job sites. The role involves driving a truck equipped with a concrete mixer, ensuring safe operation, communicating with dispatch and customers, and maintaining the vehicle and equipment. This position offers a chance to develop skills in a supportive environment, with training provided for those with limited experience.

Wage

Scale for Position

$23.00–$30.50 per hour, depending on experience, with potential for overtime pay.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safe operation.
  • Operate the ready‑mix concrete truck and deliver to specified construction sites safely and efficiently, following dispatch instructions and applicable laws.
  • Add materials (fiber, color, or other additives) to the concrete mix when required.
  • Ensure product quality, including slump and other specifications.
  • Maintain communication with the dispatcher about deliveries and check tickets for special instructions.
  • Load materials safely and obtain necessary signatures.
  • Rinse out drums and chutes, dump slurry according to established procedures.
  • Collect payment from customers and record transactions on customer receipts.
  • Inform customers of new products or services and resolve service complaints tactfully.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding product knowledge and basic concrete construction techniques.
  • Monitor gauges, investigate abnormalities, perform operator maintenance, and make minor field repairs.
  • Record sales and delivery information.
  • Maintain operator logs, forms, and records per company policy and DOT regulations.
  • Complete written reports of problems or required repairs and forward to maintenance personnel.
  • Keep the work area and vehicle clean and orderly.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
  • Maintain regular and timely attendance.
  • Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current Class A or B CDL with self‑certification of non‑excepted interstate and current DOT medical card.
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission.
  • Safety‑minded professional with good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Must pass a pre‑employment physical exam and controlled substance testing.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends/holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to signal and handle equipment.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach above shoulders.
  • Occasionally required to lift or move up to 50–75 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, mechanical parts, outside weather, and extreme cold or heat.
  • Typical noise level is moderate.
