Driver Job Summary

PARR is the total source for homebuilding supplies, solutions, and services. The company focuses on supplying building materials and solutions to professional home builders of all sizes, including custom builders, large production builders, and multifamily builders. Pay: $21.03 - $25.29.

The Driver reports directly to the General Manager and interacts daily with customers, dispatchers, receivers, and load builders. The ideal driver is driven to maintain safety regulations and above-and-beyond customer service while ensuring timely deliveries in excellent condition.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Class C license
• Must be 21 years old or older
• Current DOT medical card or must obtain one as a condition of employment
• Acceptable driving record
• Ability to speak, write, and read English
• Knowledge of vehicle safety audits and reporting of any malfunctioning equipment as required by federal and state regulations and company policy
• Ability to manage time and routes for a streamlined delivery experience
• Open and transparent communication
• Familiarity with GPS devices or map applications
• Preferred driving experience within 50‑mile radius of the primary location
• Puncture‑resistant, slip‑resistant shoes made of leather or composite material with ankle support

• Complete required new‑hire training
• Always provide required paperwork and scanning for dispatch
• Seek to learn products and their application for end users

• Demonstrate legal and thorough knowledge of tie‑down rules and regulations
• Understand weight, height, and length limits
• Ensure that all material transported on the truck has either an invoice or a Material Returns Form
• Continue to participate in training as available
• Learn best practices related to efficient loading, strapping, and driving
• Check load for accuracy
• Annually update the driver’s qualification file as required by federal and state regulations and company policy
• Travel legally, safely, and efficiently to destinations through public and private roads
• Complete mileage and fuel usage reports
• Follow delivery procedures by taking photos of delivered shipments after each delivery
• Use route planning and optimization
• Demonstrate commitment to on‑time and in‑full deliveries
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Work in a safety‑sensitive position at a lumber yard and on job sites in all weather conditions

• Pass DOT pre‑placement physical
• Lift up to 90 lbs.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
