ROLE OVERVIEW The General Manager is the operational and cultural leader of both River Lodge and Farmhouse. River Lodge is a full-service property with hotel rooms, a restaurant (Ciao Papi), and a pool;
Farmhouse is a rooms-only boutique property. This is a hands-on role — you're on the floor, in the rooms, and in the restaurant as much as you're behind a desk. You own the daily operations, profitability, and guest experience across both properties, and you report directly to the Director of Operations PONSIBILITIESHotel Operations — Both Properties Manage daily front office and housekeeping operations at River Lodge and Farmhouse, maintaining Nomada brand standards, cleanliness, safety, and guest experience at all times.

Serve as the primary guest relations leader — resolving issues promptly, handling VIP and press guests, and representing Nomada professionally in all public interactions.

Oversee reordering and inventory levels, loss prevention, pricing accuracy, and full monthly inventory across all departments at both properties.

Ensure all guest-facing systems and collateral are current at both properties, including StayNTouch PMS, OTAs, and in-room materials — delegating updates as appropriate.

Ensure proper manager and supervisory coverage across all departments at both properties at all times.

Support group sales efforts, ensuring alignment with company guidelines and brand standards.

Restaurant & Pool — River Lodge Oversee daily restaurant and pool operations at River Lodge, including FOH staffing, guest experience, and brand standard compliance.

Provide MOD coverage for the restaurant when the supervisor is not present or additional support is needed.

Work with FOH management to ensure proper food handling, bar certification, menu presentation, and ongoing staff training.

Ensure Toast POS and Open Table are current and operating correctly.

Oversee special events at River Lodge, leveraging the support of the broader team to ensure seamless execution in alignment with company guidelines and brand standards.

Team Leadership & HRLead all hiring, onboarding, training, and offboarding across departments at both properties.

Communicate clear performance standards for all staff; maintain accurate documentation for training, coaching, and disciplinary actions in accordance with Nomada HR policy and California labor law.

Adhere to California wage and hour law; take appropriate and timely corrective action to minimize exposure to violations.

Financial Performance & Cost Control Review monthly financial reports with the Nomada operations team; drive profitability across both properties.

Control labor costs across all departments; support Nomada revenue management strategies.

Ensure correct coding of all invoicing and credit card reconciliations, and accurate management of automatic system integrations.

Approve timecards in advance of each payroll submission.

Work with Nomada accounting to ensure all reporting, transfer, and inventory deliverables are met on time.

Property & Brand Standards Ensure property maintenance issues are addressed swiftly and efficiently at both properties; communicate major maintenance, safety, or compliance concerns to Nomada promptly.
