Plant Manager

The Plant Manager provides overall leadership of the surfactants manufacturing plant (industrial-scale chemical synthesis and production of surface-active agents
) in Paso Robles, California. This position is responsible for setting the vision for the site that allows for the effective planning and execution of all activities needed to support the delivery of products and services to our customers while ensuring safe operation of the facility.

• Lead and exemplify a culture where ‘safety is a core value’ is a true belief and ensure safety accountability across the organization.
• Manage and lead the central functions, including manufacturing, environmental health and safety, plant logistics, purchasing, and maintenance/engineering
  , including an expense budget
  .
• Ensure the establishment of systems and procedures that support environmental health and safety, operations, equipment reliability, human resources, and finance programs and goals
  .
• Represents management internally and promotes a plant culture that is responsive to the manufacturing environment and business needs through teamwork, personal responsibility/leadership, and effective communication.
• Represents management externally with various vendors and regulators, ensuring compliance within day-to-day operations, and prepares diligently for plant audits.
• Oversee talent management and employee development and promote constructive employee relations.
• Work closely with marketing, sales, and the R&D functions to support and contribute to new product development, scale-up, and product modifications.
• Work closely with quality to minimize non-conforming materials and generate contingency plans as non-conforming materials exist for waste minimization.
• Be active and visible within the organization to improve and bridge the gap between the business strategy and the employees.
• Accountable for quality, delivery, cost, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure both plant and company systems/standards are followed and improved.
• Facilitate and follow all Capital Expenditure processes.
• Lead and complete miscellaneous projects, as necessary.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  Chemical Engineering or a related field experience is highly desired.
• 7-10 years of previous chemical plant experience, with manufacturing supervisory/managerial experience.
• Previous plant management experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
  .
• Surfactant manufacturing experience is a plus.
