O’Neill Vintners & Distillers is a California winery that values sustainability and employee wellbeing. This position is a seasonal role, available from August 3, 2026 to November 15, 2026.
Cellar Technician 1The Cellar Technician 1 will assist in all phases of the winemaking process and maintain equipment and facilities. Candidates should be proactive, detail‑oriented, and eager to learn.
Responsibilities- Read and understand work orders.
- Gauge tanks accurately.
- Obey all safety and work rules.
- Maintain a neat appearance.
- Unload trucks at crop reception.
- Make crush additions at crop reception.
- Clean crop reception area safely and effectively.
- Water back fresh crushed pomace.
- Rehydrate yeast and inoculate fermenters.
- Make fermentation additions.
- Pump over red fermenters.
- Clean the pump‑over apparatus.
- Clean and sanitize general winery equipment.
- Load bulk trucks as required.
- Mix and sample wine tanks.
- Fill and empty wine barrels.
- Make additions to and top wine barrels.
- Operate forklift.
- One to two years of wine or related industry experience preferred.
- Ability to work any shift, 7 days a week.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Regularly roll, move, or lift 60‑gallon wine barrels.
- Stand, stoop, lean, lift, and squat for extended periods.
- Work long hours during the peak period.
- Climb stairs and ladders.
- On‑site, Paso Robles, CA winery.
- Wine cellar with cool temperatures and moderate to high noise levels.
- Work indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions.
California Pay Transparency Notice:
This position is classified as non‑exempt. The base compensation range is $20–23 per hour, with final placement determined by qualifications, experience, and current market data.
