This is a seasonal position, the Restaurant is open March-November.
The Restaurant Supervisor (RS) assists the General Manager with front of house operations of Ciao Papi Restaurant and food and beverage service at the pool. The RS ensures brand standards of service, food & beverage, and guest experience are consistently met. They assist in training FOH staff, including ongoing education, both initially and over the course of their career at the River Lodge Paso, to ensure proper development and service knowledge.
They work with the General Manager to facilitate communication and teamwork between all River Lodge departments with the end goal of improving the guest experience and long term success of the business. The restaurant supervisor will work with the onsite management and Nomada Hospitality teams. This position reports to the General Manager.
- To utilize existing training manuals, checklists and other written documents for a detailed and ongoing training program with all FOH staff. This includes communicating changes for training documents where necessary
- To oversee the restaurant operations, opening and closing
- Maintaining flow of service
- Cultivating an environment for growth through our list of checks and balances
- Addressing staff with an encouraging demeanor and at the appropriate times as to not affect service, guest, or staff morale
- Ensure staff follow health and safety regulations.
- Ensures ordering is consistent and on budget.
- Availability to work events, buyouts and occasionally cover shifts outside of your typical schedule
- Oversee service and ensure brand standards of guest experience are being met at all times.
- Respond to guest feedback and reviews in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure all guest facing areas and surfaces are clean and tidy. This pertains to the bar, restaurant, patio, front of kitchen and pool deck when applicable
- Communicating needs for ordering, inventory, training and product management for various aspects of restaurant operations.
- Communicate issues, problems, and possible solutions to the management team in a timely and effective manner.
- Opening and closing the F&B outlets in timely manner
- The RS will execute monthly Bar / Wine/ Beer/ NA inventories
- They will work with Accounting and the GM to resolve any accounting issues and provide information needed for monthly financials on all transactions related to F&B
- Keep the POS and Opentable up to date, monitor and audit.
- Execution of prep and following through with timelines.
- Scheduling staff at appropriate times & keeping costs within budget.
- Make sure tasting notes are up to date and distributed to the staff in a timely manner.
- Regular quizzing and follow up.
- Regular staff training, both daytoday and scheduled training.
- Ensures staff uses provided SOP and standards documentation to maintain consistency for both Food and Beverage.
- Submit relevant menu changes or collateral needs in a timely manner according to company standards.
- Execute ordering including bar supplies, beverage (Liquor, Wine, Non Alcoholic), and coordinating with Chef for produce.
- Communicate supply needs to the GM.
- Communicate with the General Manager on maintenance needs.
- Lead weekly meetings and holiday recaps.
- Cash Handling, Petty Cash, Tip Outs.
- End of Day reporting and analysis.
- Oversee and setup all Holiday Services and Special events
Must meet the age requirements to legally serve alcoholic beverages in the state of California.
Must possess a valid Responsible Beverage Service certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment.
Must possess a valid Food Handlers Card or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Previous applicable experience in a restaurant environment
Must be able to stand, reach, stoop, bend, lift, and clean during various activities throughout shift.
As needed, must be able to lift products or supplies up to 50 lbs.
