Accountant II – Finance Department

SJTA is looking for an Accountant II to handle a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties. The position offers opportunities for career advancement for CPAs or aspiring CPAs. Salary range: $48,000 – $53,000

• Review vendor invoices and employee reimbursements for accuracy and internal control compliance
• Review and reconcile monthly accounts payable for various departments and ensure timely entry
• Prepare check/electronic payments on a regular basis
• Ensure accounts receivable and accounts payable processes are completed within established time frames
• Produce various reports and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Cross‑train with other accounting positions/responsibilities as directed by supervisor
• Assist in special projects or other duties as required

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field from an accredited institution
• Certified Public Accountant certification preferred (but not required)
• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to conduct independent work and manage assignments
• Proficiency in relevant computer software programs
