Job Description

Administrative Specialist 1 in Benefit Payment Control – responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the BPC section, ensuring accurate and timely processing of benefit payments, waivers, and related documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Answer incoming calls, triage requests, and transfer callers to appropriate areas.
  • Research information and respond to inquiries from customers, internal and external sources; explain Unemployment Insurance laws, rules, and policies.
  • Review incoming waiver requests and determine eligibility for over payment waivers.
  • Compose and distribute meeting minutes; prepare monthly statistical reports.
  • Coordinate projects internally and externally to achieve identified goals and objectives.
  • Schedule hearings and prepare hearing materials using telephonic software.
  • Conduct studies and evaluations to analyze, report, and recommend actions; identify and project trends.
  • Assist with or create policy guides for the BPC team.
Required

Minimum Qualifications
  • Two years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience that includes records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data.
  • Or an associate degree in general office occupations and one year of similar experience.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
