I am supporting a specialist early-phase CRO with a confidential Business Development Director search in the US.
The role will focus on growing new business across early-stage clinical services, including Phase I, BA/BE, bioanalysis, data management, biometrics and wider early clinical development support.
The target territory is likely to be focused around the Northeast, with Boston, New Jersey and New York being key areas of interest.
This is a strong opportunity for a commercially driven CRO business development professional who has existing sponsor relationships and knows how to open doors across biotech and pharma.
The business is entering an important growth phase and this person will play a key role in expanding its commercial footprint in the US market.
What they are looking for:- Strong understanding of early-phase clinical services
- Exposure to Phase I, Phase I/IIa, BA/BE, bioanalysis or clinical pharmacology would be highly relevant
- Existing biotech / pharma sponsor relationships
- Ability to build and manage a high-quality sales pipeline
- Comfortable working closely with proposals, operations and leadership to move opportunities forward
- Strong communication, negotiation and client-facing skills
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to operate in a growing, fast-moving environment
This would suit someone who wants to sell, build relationships and have real influence in a specialist CRO environment rather than becoming lost in a huge corporate structure.
