The School of Education at the University of Cincinnati is seeking part-time/limited adjunct instructors (field supervisors) for the College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services, and Information Technology (CECH). The position requires the capacity to communicate program expectations, mentor licensure program students, review field assignments and complete field evaluations, meet with/observe students in the field multiple times per semester, attend meetings several times per semester, and report requirements to student teachers and site mentors.
The adjunct supervisor will communicate with the program Field Coordinator on student progress. The adjunct faculty member would be responsible for supervision, observation, and evaluation of teacher candidates at school partner sites. Must have availability during the typical PK‑12 school day and reliable means of transportation to partner schools.
- Evaluate the teaching performance of teacher candidates at field schools and provide oral and written feedback.
- Evaluate assignments and provide written feedback.
- Communicate with teacher candidates, mentor teachers, and UC faculty members regarding the performance of the teacher candidate.
- Troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
- Attend meetings several times per semester and report requirements.
- Meet with/observe students in the field multiple times per semester.
- Supervision, observation, and evaluation of teacher candidates at partner school sites.
- Creation and reporting of knowledge to a diverse set of students.
- Ensure availability during the typical PK‑12 school day and reliable transportation.
- Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline and prior teaching experience.
- PK‑12 teaching or supervisory license in an appropriate field.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex material to students unfamiliar with a subject.
- Ability to work and collaborate with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
- Experience working with adult learners.
- Intermediate computer skills and willingness to use learning management systems such as Canvas and SLL.
- Utilize Teams and Zoom to attend or hold meetings.
