Job Description Essential Functions- Ability to work directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socio‑economic backgrounds, demonstrating and promoting a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Provide direct and remote tutoring to assist students in gaining proficiency in key concepts for various subject areas.
- Conduct small group tutoring sessions.
- Assess students’ learning needs and develop customized lesson plans.
- Assist students in understanding challenging concepts and improving study skills.
- Collaborate effectively within Academic Support Services to increase student success.
- Provide constructive feedback to students.
- Stay informed about curriculum changes and educational methods relevant to the subject(s) you tutor.
- Comply with all safety, fire and smoking regulations.
- Complete all mandatory compliance and safety training as scheduled by Human Resources.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean of eLearning and Academic Support Services.
- Associate’s Degree or higher.
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge in subject matter.
- Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of software packages.
- Strong understanding of the subject matter.
- Assist students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, and research topics.
- Familiarity with desktop software applications required.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills.
- Ability to quickly respond to changing institutional needs and work environments.
- Ability to travel between and to work at any of the College campuses.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
$15.13-$19 per hour
