Description

Seton Hall University's Department of Mathematics and Computer Science and the School of Diplomacy and International Relations invite applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in cybersecurity and policy to commence in the  academic year. The position will be a joint appointment housed in the College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, and with undergraduate and graduate teaching responsibilities each year for Computer Science (3 courses/9 credits) and Diplomacy and International Relations (3 courses/9 credits).

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Candidates must be qualified to teach courses in the fields of: (1) computer science related to cybersecurity; (2) government policy related to cyber security, information security, and cyber warfare; and (3) modern statistical research methods/data analysis.
  • They must contribute to the university's degree programs in cybersecurity and international and homeland security and help launch the new curriculum in security and conflict analysis.
Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in hand by the time of appointment, either in (1) computer science, computer engineering, or cybersecurity, accompanied by academic training in public policy or extensive policy experience; or (2) political science or a related discipline accompanied by academic computer science training or extensive technical experience.
  • Demonstrated potential to teach effectively at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Strong research background or substantial potential for conducting important academic research in their field of specialization.
Salary Range

$98,625-$109,583
