Quality Engineer
Specific Responsibilities:
- Develops solutions to more complex problems and drives the continuous improvement project lifecycle, from ideation to the completion of sustained improvements.
- Can lead multiple components of site or departmental improvement initiatives.
- Maintains Quality Engineering programs, policies, processes, procedures and controls ensuring that performance and quality of products conform to established standards and agency guidelines.
- Determines the functions most critical to departmental success and proactively engages these to drive business forward.
- Presents results of work, interprets data, and draws conclusions regarding presented material and nature of work to relevant stakeholders.
- Facilitates process mapping sessions through collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Analyze data to provide insights and support decision making.
Essential Duties and
Job Functions:
- Works on complex issues where analysis requires an in-depth assessment, considering many variables, and potential consequences.
- Uses basic statistical techniques for data analysis. Uses more complex research techniques and methodologies like six sigma and kaizen to improve process/product quality.
- Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate and interact with senior management.
- Exercises judgment within well-defined and established procedures and practices to determine appropriate action with minimal supervision.
Knowledge,
Experience and Skills:
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and application of QE principles (ASQ Body of Knowledge), concepts, industry practices, and standards.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and excellent written & oral communications skills.
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of Six Sigma, Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC) methodology, performance measures and quality improvement statistical is beneficial.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint) is required.
- Experience with Data Analytics platforms (e.g. JMP, Minitab, Tableau. Spotfire) preferred.
- Certification by ASQ (Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt) or other industry-recognized professional organizations.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry and a BS or BA in engineering or science related degree.
- 6+ years of relevant experience and a MS.
