Job Overview
Our client, a professional service firm in the manufacturing space, is hiring an Engineering Manager.
The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading engineering teams in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of products, systems, and technical solutions. This role combines strong technical expertise with leadership, project management, and strategic planning to ensure successful delivery of business objectives while fostering a high-performing engineering culture.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prioritize, and manage engineering projects from concept through completion.
- Develop project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities with Product Management, Operations, Quality, Finance, and other stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight for engineering solutions.
- Review designs, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and engineering metrics.
- Support quality assurance, reliability, and compliance initiatives.
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships when applicable.
- Participate in strategic planning and long-term technology roadmaps.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive engineering experience.
- 3+ years of leadership or management experience.
- CNC or Plastics Experience.
- Demonstrated success leading complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency with project management tools and engineering software.
- Knowledge of Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies preferred.
- Experience with regulatory and quality standards relevant to the industry.
