Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting, Accounting & Finance
LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a private equity–backed organization seeking an experienced Plant Controller to serve as the senior on-site finance leader for an operating facility. This role functions as a “mini CFO” for the location, owning all plant-level accounting and financial operations while partnering closely with operations and senior leadership. This is a hands-on, highly visible role requiring strong leadership, technical accounting expertise, and comfort working in an onsite, operational environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Serve as the senior finance and accounting leader for the plant, acting as the primary financial business partner to operations and leadership
- Own all plant-level accounting activities including general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and operational financial reporting for the facility
- Oversee inventory accounting, including physical inventory counts, reconciliations, and valuation
- Ensure accurate cost tracking and financial insight
- Supervise and develop a small accounting team
- Maintain and optimize use of the ERP system
- Support private equity reporting requirements and ad hoc financial analysis as needed
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, controls, and financial visibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Prior experience in plant, construction, manufacturing, or project-based environments strongly preferred
- Proven experience as a Plant Controller, Senior Controller, or similar “mini CFO” role
- Strong inventory and cost accounting background, including physical inventory oversight
- Experience supervising accounting staff
- Hands-on ERP experience;
Sage Intacct highly preferred - Comfortable working fully onsite in a fast-paced, operational setting
- Experience working in a private equity–backed environment is a plus
$140,000-$150,000
