Senior Accountant

A well-established and growing organization in Northern New Jersey is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. The company has built a strong reputation within its industry through long-standing client relationships, operational excellence, and a stable, collaborative culture.

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records, supporting the close process, preparing financial reporting, and assisting with ongoing process improvements. This position will have visibility across multiple areas of the business and contribute to financial decision-making through accurate reporting and analysis.

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and other general ledger transactions
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare internal financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting activities
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
• Assist with external audits and year-end financial statement preparation
• Analyze financial data and identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
• Collaborate with operational teams to support reporting and financial visibility across the business
• Maintain accurate financial records within Sage Intacct

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong general ledger, account reconciliation, and month-end close experience
• Experience preparing financial reports and supporting audits
• Sage Intacct experience required
• Advanced Excel skills
• CPA or CPA-track preferred, but not required
• Exposure to project-based or construction-related accounting environments is a plus, but not required
