The Analyst, Managed Care Rebate Operations role focuses on contract administration, data validation, analysis, processing, and payment of rebates associated with Managed Care contracts. The position interprets contract terms, validates eligibility, manages formulary compliance, adjudicates rebates, and ensures accurate and timely payments. Collaboration with Contract Operations and external customers is essential to resolve issues and maintain compliance.
Responsibilities- Review executed paper contracts, summarize terms, and set up contracts to reflect intended meaning.
- Maintain Managed Care rebate contracts, including terms, membership and formulary status.
- Validate submitted rebate claims data and determine eligibility based on plan formulary status and compliance.
- Calculate rebates on eligible claims, analyze discrepancies, and decide final payments to customers per contract terms.
- Collaborate with Contract Operations to ensure rebate calculations and payments align with contract intent.
- Use analytical thinking to resolve variances in claims data trends or expected rebate rates.
- Evaluate invoices for year‑to‑date rebate payment trends, explain variances, and elevate significant discrepancies to leadership.
- Prepare payment packages, process payments, and resolve outstanding issues to meet contractual timelines.
- Monitor drug formulary compliance and serve as primary contact with external payers and Contract Operations.
- Gather facts and recommend resolution for disputes, reporting to management for approval.
- Apply process‑oriented critical thinking to enhance the effectiveness of contract administration and rebate processing.
- Revise SOPs as needed to reflect process improvements.
- Maintain compliance with SOX and audit controls governing contract and rebate operations.
- Assist in internal and external audit requirements, legal requests, and government agency inquiries.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in contract administration, rebate processing, or business/financial analysis.
- Experience applying analytical techniques to assess data reasonableness, trends, and root causes.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with rapid decision‑making under discrepancies.
- Effective communication skills, proven with internal and external customers, and ability to elicit accurate information.
- Flexible, team‑player attitude with willingness to collaborate across assignments and projects.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Access);
Managed Care experience preferred. - BA/BS degree preferred.
