We are seeking a highly experienced and commercially sharp USA Ocean Freight Product Manager (Senior Ocean Freight Pricing Manager) to serve as a foundational member of our U.S. ocean freight expansion.
About the RoleThis role is designed for a senior pricing professional who operates with strong ownership, sound commercial judgment, and the confidence to make independent pricing decisions in a dynamic market environment. The position requires both strategic perspective and daily execution.
You will directly shape pricing structure, margin strategy, and carrier positioning while managing high-volume quoting activity. You will work closely with executive and senior management, contributing to business decisions that directly impact growth and profitability. This is a high-visibility, high-accountability role.
1. Strategic Ocean Pricing Ownership- Lead and execute ocean carrier contract negotiations and rate strategy
- Structure competitive, margin-aligned pricing models across key trade lanes
- Own and drive complex RFQs and customer-specific pricing initiatives
- Provide management-level insights on market conditions, rate trends, and competitive positioning
- Actively monitor ocean carrier capacity, service changes, market seasonality, and rate volatility
- Make disciplined pricing decisions to protect and enhance margin performance
- Analyze performance data and identify revenue optimization opportunities
- Anticipate risk exposure arising from market disruptions, capacity constraints, and carrier actions
- Manage daily spot quoting and time-sensitive pricing requests
- Oversee full ocean pricing components including origin/destination cost structures
- Maintain pricing integrity within ERP systems and contract databases
- Establish structured workflows and pricing governance processes
- Engage directly with senior management on pricing performance and business strategy
- Partner closely with Sales and Operations to align commercial objectives
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for ocean freight pricing
- Build and maintain strong relationships with ocean carriers, and strategic logistics partners
- 7–12 years of ocean freight pricing and procurement experience
- Proven ocean carrier contract negotiation experience required
- Demonstrated success leading complex RFQs and strategic accounts
- Strong commercial acumen and decisive judgment under market pressure
- Advanced Excel and pricing analytics capability
- Thrives in high-growth, high-expectation environments
- Is confident operating with autonomy and ownerships
- Is comfortable engaging directly with senior leadership
- Takes initiative and builds structure where none exists
- Sees pricing not as administrative work, but as a commercial driver
- Bilingual proficiency (Korean, English) is a plus, but not a requirement
