Industrial Engineering Manager

Position Overview

The Industrial Engineering Manager is responsible for identifying, leading, and managing initiatives that increase productivity, simplify associate workload, and improve store operational processes. This role requires strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, effective team management, and excellent communication. The manager will own the labor standards database, becoming an expert in adding, editing, and updating data inputs, and will collaborate with internal stakeholders and 3rd‑party consulting resources to develop and implement improvement ideas.

• Identify, lead, and manage initiatives that drive increases in productivity, simplify associate workload, and improve store operational processes.
• Analyze and drive new initiatives to completion through store observations, interactions with store leadership, idea generation with Field executives, discussions with store partners, and competitive benchmarking.
• Own the labor standards database and become an expert in adding, editing, and updating data inputs.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and 3rd‑party consulting resources to brainstorm improvement ideas, develop hypotheses, and translate insights into actionable projects.
• Build strong relationships with Field partners to coach and train on best practices for process reengineering, workstation design, and material handling.
• Identify productivity and process improvement opportunities, provide insightful analysis, and make compelling recommendations to senior leadership.
• Develop and maintain accurate engineered standards through time and frequency studies.
• Support business objectives by developing business cases, securing approvals, and managing the implementation of improvement initiatives.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or a related analytical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in process design, work measurement, productivity improvement, cost reduction, and project implementation.
• Preferred experience in a retail distribution or stores environment with labor management systems.
• Experience with Work Measurement, standard data, predetermined time systems, and tools such as MOST.
• Six Sigma, LEAN, or Continuous Improvement training.
• Ability to lead and prioritize projects, analyze data, and implement solutions while maintaining budget.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact across a broad range of organizational levels and functions.
• Proficiency in MS Excel/Access, statistics, probability, and time study software.
