Quality Control Inspector
Role OverviewThe Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting vendor‑supplied components to ensure they meet engineering specifications, dimensional tolerances, and quality standards. This role is hands‑on and inspection‑focused, supporting a low‑volume, high‑precision manufacturing environment connected to advanced semiconductor systems.
Responsibilities- Perform inspection of incoming vendor‑supplied components, including precision‑machined parts, sheet metal components, and system housings.
- Review and validate first‑article inspection documentation packages, including material certifications and vendor‑provided dimensional reports.
- Conduct follow‑up inspections on subsequent material receipts to ensure consistency and quality compliance.
- Interpret and analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
- Perform dimensional inspection using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and manual tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Set up and operate CMM equipment for precision measurement, utilizing existing software to configure part orientation and execute inspection routines.
- Identify non‑conforming material and initiate corrective workflows, creating detailed discrepancy records within SAP.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive resolution, including Manufacturing Engineering and Supply Chain.
- Serve as a key interface between incoming inspection, manufacturing engineering, and supply chain.
- Support decision‑making related to use‑as‑is determinations, vendor returns, and scrap or rework actions.
- Provide feedback to engineering teams on drawing clarity and manufacturability.
- 4+ years of experience in quality control and inspection roles.
- Strong experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
- Experience in ISO quality environments.
- Hands‑on dimensional inspection experience.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Proficiency in using measurement tools such as calipers and gauges.
Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- Experience in machine shop or precision manufacturing environments.
This is a Permanent position based out of Somerset, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $51,000.00 - $66,000.00 per year.
