What You'll Do

• Lead team in achieving department and company performance goals with emphasis on accuracy, quality, and safety.
• Provide guidance and direction to staff, including hiring, disciplinary actions, staff development, goal setting, and performance reviews.
• Ensure all steel is manufactured to specifications and safely in a timely manner.
• Visually inspect furnace for issues such as water leaks and refractory wear.
• Work with personnel to operate, monitor, and maintain melt shop equipment (caster, furnace, cranes, ladle furnace, etc.).
• Communicate with team members and supervisors about potential production issues, concerns, and needs.
• Troubleshoot work-related problems using job knowledge, experience, and communication with other departments (pulpit operators, process managers, maintenance personnel, etc.).
• Control and replenish inventory of consumables needed on the operations floor.

What You'll Need

• Minimum 5 years of mill experience.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
• Ability to work in extreme heat conditions.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Preferred experience with QMOS and SAP.

Your Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
