Shift: Day Shift (07:00 – 15:00) | Monday – Friday
Job Summary:Seeking a specialized OR RN with Cardiac experience to support their surgical services team. This role requires a high level of technical expertise in open-heart and cardiovascular procedures. You will be responsible for circulating complex cardiac cases, coordinating with surgeons and anesthesiologists, and ensuring the highest standards of sterile technique and patient safety are maintained in the perioperative environment.
Key Responsibilities- Cardiac Circulation: Manage the sterile field and nursing care for adult and geriatric patients undergoing cardiac surgeries (e.g., CABG, valve replacements).
- Intraoperative Management: Coordinate patient care with the surgical team, directing OR Technicians and monitoring patient physiological status throughout the procedure.
- Emergency Readiness: Maintain proficiency in ACLS and PALS protocols to manage intraoperative crises.
- Equipment Mastery: Ensure the readiness of specialized cardiac equipment, including sternal saws, bypass cannulae, and cell savers.
- Clinical Versatility: While primarily cardiac, you will provide care across the lifespan (neonates to geriatrics) as needed within the surgical setting.
- Experience: Minimum one year of previous perioperative experience. Cardiac OR experience is strictly required.
- Education: BSN is preferred.
- Licensure: Active and valid New Jersey State RN License.
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA): Required upon hire.
- ACLS (AHA): Required within 30 days of hire.
- PALS (AHA): Required within 30 days of hire.
- CNOR: Preferred.
Call is a strict requirement for this position with no exceptions.
- Weekdays: 1–2 shifts per week (23:00 – 07:00).
- Weekends: Once every 5th weekend (Saturday and Sunday, 24-hour coverage each day).
- Response Time: Must be able to arrive at the facility within 30 minutes of being called in.
- Setting: Surgery Department (74200).
- Location: Passaic, NJ 07055.
- Reporting: Directly to the OR Charge Nurse and Director of Surgical Services.
