The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will manage the mid‑level provider team. This role combines advanced clinical practice with educational and administrative responsibilities to deliver high‑quality care to neonatal patients. The APP will guide the NICU team, enhance clinical practices, and foster a culture of learning and professional development. In this role, the candidate coordinates and ensures comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process and evidence‑based practice.
Certificationand Licensure
- APN license
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or equivalent
- Registered Professional Nurse with current NJ state license
- CDS and DEA
- National certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP‑BC) from an accredited certifying body
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a Level 3 NICU, with at least 2 years in a leadership or educational role
- CPR certification, NRP and BLS certification
- Provide medical care and treatment to neonates in the critical care setting under the direction of a Neonatologist
- Responsible for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of newborn/neonatal care delivered to patients who present to the NICU, Labor and Delivery Unit and Mother Baby Unit
- Perform physical exams, collect and document data, conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, order and interpret laboratory studies, and perform billing
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a high‑stress environment
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and documentation
- Prescribe appropriate interventions and medications
- Utilize protocols and nursing care practice for neonates and newborn patients
- Discuss cases with obstetrician and neonatologist
- Provide education to patients and parents
